SDH Fine Art

Founded by Susan Hartry in 2011 the STOKES ART GROUP was based in BRADLEY STOKE - just north of Bristol - and ran for 10 years. The SAG was an informal Community group of up to 20 local Artists who simply met to paint together for a few hours a week.  Themed Project Competitions for each Term were held to inject a Group purpose with a small prize for the winning artwork, which was judged by Susan or an independent Guest - to note: Susan did not enter if she was judging!!!  There was also an annual Portfolio Competition with the catchy title of the JAM JAR PRIZE, where members could submit up to 5 artworks for display with the hope of winning - an empty Jam Jar !! Well... London has the Turner Prize - the SAG had the Jam Jar Prize - deeply cherished by those presented with one !!!!!
